Which Decision Is Worse? Real Madrid Firing Del Bosque Or Ivory Coast Hiring Erickson?

Real have paid dearly since firing Del Bosque in 2003, spending almost a billion euros on players since. Ivory Coast my have squandered their best chance to get to a final and possibly win the World Cup with the hiring of Sven Erickson. Les Elephans would have been better to stick with Le Guen. If you know of any worse decisions to hire/fire a coach please feel free to share.

    Erickson was once a good coach. He is now over the hill and brings a lot of baggage with him. Not something any team should have guiding them during the World Cup. The hiring of Erickson is definitely the worse of the two, mainly because before that I had Ivory Coast as possibly winning the first World Cup trophy for an African team.

    Look at Del Bosque’s Spainiard team now. They are currently 2nd it the World.
    Didn’t Erikson coach England in 2006? They got as far as Quarter-finals, which is actually pretty good.

    Ivory Coast with Eriksson is worse. i agree with you thats a rapid downgrade but hopefully they can still win the world cup because my pants will be down if they don’t.
    Del Bosque had the galacticos. Eriksson is a total failure with every team. Mexcio, England etc.. England would beat Portugal if Capello was coach in 2006.

    Interesting question. I have to say the firing of Del Bosque because he won so much. The hiring of Erickson might be a close second.
