I was watching the weather channel, and they said new New York City is gonna get hit bad, by a hurricane. I know water temperatures are really warm, and they said thats the reason. Is that even true, or are they just saying that. Explain please.

Rhode Island or New York City will not be hit by a hurricane anytime soon. Right now there is no Hurricane anywhere in the Atlantic. What they likely meant was that at some point in the future Rhode Island runs a risk of being hit by a Cat. 3 or lighter Hurricane. As far as the future goes that is very likely true. The future could mean anytime this century or longer.
Actually it’s a category three or higher meteor strike. I’d get to the bunker.
you were watching it could happen tomorrow. its a show about weather that could destroy cities. what you saw would be an ABSOLUTE,Absolute worst case scenario, all the episodes are like that. you shouldnt be afraid, because they dont think that a storm of that magnitude would happen regularly.
What you were watching is essentially fiction. Water temperatures in the Atlantic are unusually warm this year, but it would still take a perfect setup to allow a tropical cyclone to directly strike New York City or New England – let alone a Category 3 major hurricane. While all coastal areas do need to be prepared well in advance, there is no foreseeable threat of a tropical cyclone in the northeastern United States at the moment.
