   You can write your marriage vows almost any way you want (depending on where you want to marry — some more orthodox churches will allow less, if any deviation from their prescribed texts). The “trick” is finding someone you want to marry who will agree to the text!
   And remember: these vows cut both ways. If “obey” is dropped (which is exactly what we did), neither partner has promised to be obedient.
   My guy and I happen to think that forsaking all others is really important to a happy, healthy relationship — although it is apparently far easier said than done (judging from divorce rates and the amount of cheating cited in this section).
   So, pick the cities where you want to be footloose and fancy free. Just make sure your spouse feels likewise.
